The rank size rule was completely wrong when estimating what the populations of the top 5 largest cities in Canada were. The numbers may look close to each other, but when you think about it they're actually further apart than any of the other countries (Ukraine, El Salvador, and Yemen). Despite Canada being a developed country, it didn't fit the rank size rule like most other developed countries, and it has proven the rank size rule invalid because of the population of Canada's top 5 largest cities.
